On a quiet hillside farm in central Asia, piles of sheep manure used to be a daily problem. The smell, the flies, and the pollution of nearby water streams made waste management a real challenge for local herders.

But today, that same waste has become the farm’s most valuable resource — thanks to a Sheep Manure Organic Fertilizer Production Line designed and installed by LANE Heavy Industry.

This is the story of how modern technology is helping farmers turn waste into wealth, and how a simple production line can transform the way we think about livestock farming.

Why Sheep Manure Matters

Sheep manure is often underrated compared to poultry or cow manure, but it’s actually one of the most balanced organic materials for fertilizer production. It contains an excellent combination of organic matter, nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium, and decomposes faster due to its low moisture content.

Farmers love it because it:

  • Improves soil aeration and water retention

  • Enhances root growth and plant vitality

  • Is gentle enough for seedlings and young plants

  • Has a natural texture that composts efficiently

That’s why the demand for Sheep Manure Organic Fertilizer Production Lines has been increasing — especially in regions where livestock and crop farming coexist.

How the Sheep Manure Organic Fertilizer Production Line Works

A modern Sheep Manure Organic Fertilizer Production Line is not just about drying manure; it’s a full-cycle system that transforms raw waste into valuable organic fertilizer ready for the market.

Let’s take a look at how it works — step by step.

1. Composting and Fermentation

The process starts with composting, where raw manure is mixed with straw, crop residues, or sawdust to balance the carbon-to-nitrogen ratio. With the help of LANE’s crawler-type compost turner or groove-type compost turner, the piles are regularly turned to supply oxygen and control moisture.

After about 15–20 days, the temperature rises to 60–70°C, killing bacteria and weed seeds. The result is clean, mature compost — the foundation of organic fertilizer.

2. Crushing and Mixing

Once fermentation is complete, the composted material is processed by a vertical crusher to break down clumps. Then, in a horizontal mixer, nutrients and additives like humic acid or beneficial microbes are blended to enhance fertilizer quality and stability.

3. Granulation

Next comes the most crucial stage — granulation.LANE offers several granulating solutions depending on the customer’s preference and budget:

  • Stirring Pin Granulator: great for fine compost and consistent granule size.

  • Disc Granulator: simple structure, adjustable granule diameter.

  • Double Roller Granulator: dry granulation with low energy use.

These machines form smooth, dense fertilizer granules that are easy to transport and apply.

4. Drying and Cooling

To prevent caking and moisture buildup, the granules are processed in a rotary drum dryer to reduce water content to 10–15%.Then a rotary cooler stabilizes the temperature and hardness of the granules, ensuring longer shelf life.

5. Screening and Packaging

Finally, a rotary drum screener separates qualified granules from oversized or undersized particles.Qualified products are automatically packed into bags using an automatic packaging machine, ready for sale or farm use.

A Real Case from Indonesia

In 2024, a customer in East Java, Indonesia, partnered with LANE Heavy Industry to build a Sheep Manure Organic Fertilizer Production Line with a 3–5 ton per hour capacity. The farm had more than 4,000 sheep and used to face waste disposal problems.

After the installation of the composting and granulation system, the farm began producing high-quality organic fertilizer used on local corn and rice fields.Within just three months, they were also selling excess fertilizer to nearby farms — creating a new income stream.

“What used to be a problem for us is now our biggest advantage,” said the farm owner.“The soil is healthier, our crops are better, and the environment is cleaner.”
